Dirty Pennies, a rock band from San Diego, California play their new song, “Bad Machine” at the Ray at Night street festival in North Park. This song, written only two weeks prior and performed only once before, was created as a reaction to what our whole political process has become and is perfect timing considering the controversies surrounding the incoming president.
It goes something like this:
Bad Machine:
it’s a bad machine, if you know what I mean
not what I would call the American dream
it’s a bad machine, it’s a real bad scene, the kind of shit that makes me scream
don’t understand all these believers, taken in by the big deceivers
democracy’s’ not what we see, truth became a fallacy (changed)
a bad machine, if you know what I mean
not what I would call the American dream
it’s a bad machine, it’s a real bad scene, the kind of shit that makes me scream
you may think you can run to the north, you may think you can run to the south
but it’s better to stay right here, and punch them in the mouth
it’s a bad machine, if you know what I mean
not what I would call the American dream
it’s a bad machine, it’s a real bad scene, the kind of shit that makes me scream
divide and conquer is the plan, turn us against our fellow man
unite and fight is what I say, cover for your brother no matter what color
it’s a a bad machine, if you know what I mean
not what I would call the American dream
it’s a bad machine, it’s a real bad scene, the kind of shit that makes me scream
cause it’s a bad machine, if you know what I mean
not what I would call the American dream
it’s a bad machine, it’s a real bad scene, the kind of shit that makes me scream
